Raleigh, North Carolina is full of many historic sites and fun museums to explore. After picking up your motorhome rental from AdventureQuest RV Rentals, we suggest that you consider spending some time at Historic Yates Mill County Park.

Home of the county’s last gristmill, Historic Yates Mill County Park has a rich history and fun activities you can enjoy. You can take a tour of the mill for a minimal fee and learn all about the area’s rich agricultural history. Discover what a gristmill did, how it worked, and why it was important to the Raleigh community. You can even see a corn-grinding demonstration!

In addition to the Historic Yates Mill, you can also enjoy the park’s 176 acres of wildlife refuge. Take a hike on one of the trails throughout the park, or pack a picnic lunch and eat beside the pond. The park also allows fishing in designated areas.

Admission to Historic Yates Mill Park is free; mill tours cost between $3-5 (based on age) and children under 6 years old are free. Be sure to check out the Historic Yates Mill Park website for most current hours of operation and mill tour times.
